Daily Devotion, 10/23/2018, “Thankful!”
Proverbs 27:17 NIV As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
I was up yesterday morning at 2:30 a.m. so that I could make an early flight out of Houston for Pittsburgh to meet up with three of my closest friends in ministry. We get together once or twice each year to encourage one another, pray through issues we have back home, develop teaching ideas, discuss what is and isn’t working in our churches and so on. I would have been at my gate in Houston’s Hobby airport in time to write a devotion but a wreck in front of me on the 610 loop caused me to miss my flight. I was put on standby for the next flight out and was thankful that there was one no show and therefore one seat available on the 100 percent full flight for me. It’s refreshingly cold and windy here at the Hidden Valley Ski Resort in the Laurel Highlands region of western Pennsylvania. Hopefully I’ll feel the same way about the 20 degree wake up we’ll have here in the morning! It was a late night after a very long day yesterday but I’m thankful to be in this condo with my dear friends for what I think is the sixth time in recent years. I always wake up well before the others and we have internet access here for the first time now so writing these next few days should not be a problem.
I’m about to get the fire place going and then I’ll grab my camera and go for a hike…such a beautiful place. I hope that you have a blessed and beautiful week back home, wherever home is for you. You are loved!
