Daily Devotion, 4/06/18, “Reckless Love”
“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.” Romans 3:22 NLT
“Just As I Am,” do you remember how Billy Graham always ended his salvation sermons with that song? Millions came to Christ after hearing the Good News that they could receive forgiveness freely through faith regardless of what they had done. Paul reminds us that God’s grace is available to all of us, no matter who we are or what our track record is. By simply placing our faith in Jesus Christ and trusting Him for our salvation, we are made right with our God. Our entire past is forgiven. Every white lie, big lie and half-truth is forgiven. Haven’t been in church since PawPaw’s funeral when you were 11? Covered. That horrible thing you did that you thought no one saw, forgotten. Forgiveness and a clean slate aren’t contingent on being the first in line or the cream of the crop or having any previous religious stock. There’s enough grace for everyone which is a good thing, since everyone has sinned. God accepts you just like He accepts everyone else…just as you are.
If you’d like to place your faith in Christ and be made right with God by His grace, today is a great day to do that. You don’t have to wait until next Easter or even next Sunday to make things right. God’s arms are open to you every day. God’s Grace is yours for the asking and it’s in plentiful supply. You are loved!
PS As I shared a couple of months back, my favorite song of late is “Reckless Love” by Cory Asbury. It’s a powerful reminder of God’s all in pursuit of our hearts with His grace and love.
