Daily Devotion, 03/19/2019, “Refreshing Repentance”
Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshing will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.
There is a cumulative effect of living a godless, sinful life that is absolutely exhausting. I’m not denying that “sin is pleasurable for a season” (Hebrews 11:25) but as the consequences pile up, godless living is anything but pleasurable (Galatians 6:7-9.) How refreshing it is to “turn to God” and away from sin and its consequences. How refreshing it is to embrace grace while letting go of shame. How refreshing it is to experience the life that comes from living for God rather than the negative consequences that come from living apart from Him. How refreshing it is to be in the presence of the Lord, our life and “living water.” (John 4:10)
Ask God to reveal to you anything in your life that is displeasing to Him. Let go of whatever He shows you and turn to Him. May you experience “times of refreshing” today. May the life that you live and the “presence” you carry be refreshing to others. May those in your circle come to thirst for the living water that they see refreshing you.
You are loved!
